Military crackdown no solutionReader comment on item: Global Ramifications of the Anti-Muslim Brotherhood Campaign in Egypt Submitted by Lars Nielsen (Denmark), Nov 2, 2013 at 02:43 The military crackdown in Egypt will not make the muslim brotherhood go away. It will only make them into martyrs and give them moral superiority over their military opponents. It will also legitimize their aim of ruling Egypt without democratic control, because they now can say: "Look, what happened, when we tried to rule in accordance with democratic principles. We were subdued by a military coup." The military crackdown is no solution to Egypt's problems, and therefore, they will be tossed away. Afterwards, the muslim brotherhood will take over and establish dictatorial rule arguing, it is necessary in order to suppress the military and defend true islamic democracy.
