Oil use drives dangerous global warmingReader comment on item: Americans Can and Will Be Energy Independent Submitted by Dr. Matania Ginosar (United States), Dec 19, 2013 at 20:18 In your memo on US oil supply you did not mention a much more critical issue- climate change. According to many years of careful analysis by hundreds of climate scientists and actual evidence we have nearly crossed the level of greenhouse gas emissions that will change the global climate drastically for the worse. Sea level rise, desertification expansion, powerful storms the size we have rarely experienced before, ocean acidification- reduce ocean productivity, to name a few, will impact most of humanity as the global temperature rises. The more fossil fuel we use the faster the damages to all humanity. And for all the talks and agreements to date we did nothing of value to slow climate change significantly.
