Dear Natan BronxReader comment on item: Anti-Islam & Anti-Islamism Trumps Islam in the West: Polls Submitted by Kepha Hor (United States), Jan 9, 2014 at 19:33 I'll tell you how the O can say something so egregious. I teach world history in a high school in the eastern USA, and I have read a fair amount of history, including much non-Western history, from a number of persepctives. I have concluded that were I to follow our curriculum to the letter, I would cease to be a teacher of history and become a professional liar. Unofrtunately, looking back on the education I received in the USA when young, I see this problem has been going on for generations. However, I recently took mention of Dhimmi status as evidence of Islamic "tolerance" in a textbook as an opportunity to let a class know that under such status, the witness of a Christian or Jew was worth half that of a Muslim; that Dhimmi were not allowed to ride anything bigger than donkeys; they were not allowed to keep and bear arms; and that conversion could go in only one direction. I plan to do this more in the future. The truth about Islam is clear to anyone who wishes to see it--and I speak as someone who has known many Muslims whom I have liked as people. Even Leftist showbiz people see it when they continue to insult Christian sensibilities at every turn, but are as timid as quails when it comes to Islam. The O, as a younger man than I, is even worse educated than I was as a teen. That's how he can make such egregious statements.
