Thank you, DNM,

You are welcome

I looked at the pages and google-translated them. the sources from wikipedia are essentially translations of English articles

The wikipedia page introduces us to the Feb 17 group and who they really are and who is financing the group and their relationship to the US consulate in Benghazi and to al-Qaeeda if any

and the second :Ibya TV seems like it is also referencing an English paper (World Trib) that is using G Hicks as a source. Is that correct?

It is the World Tribune and here is a video of his testimony to congress

http://www.worldtribune.com/tv/videos/victoria-toensing-on-demotion-of-whistleblower-greg-hicks/

And yes it says in Libya TV that Greg Hicks was the Deputy Chief of Mission of the US in Libya and here is his take on what really happened dated Jan 22/2014 and it was published in the WSJ but notice he does not get into the rule of the Feb 17 group

I was hoping for either FEB17 guys themselves stating allegiance or admitting they were not protecting the outpost or another source that links them with other terror groups (I know that some of the Ansar guys were offshoots of FEB17).

If you check the links from the wikipedia article you will come across an article from the BBC about the various Islamist groups at the time of the atrocity but these groups are very fluid and what was true back then might be a different story now

And this is what we have from their facebook page (I'm unable to find the time or the date of when the below was posted but it is clear from reading the below comments that it was posted sometime on 9/11/2012

And in the above the group denies any link to those that attacked the embassy (sic)

Do I believe it? No I do not

Just curious if there Is anything on arabic FB or twitter from the time period that might show their allegiances and why it was such a travesty to have them guarding Americans.

Yes I did a cursory search of twitter in Arabic and I did not have any luck and I suspect that this group could be posting under different names and different accounts

thanks for any links you see

Stay tuned for more
