Move the American Embassy to JerusalemReader comment on item: Pretending Tel Aviv, Not Jerusalem, Is the Capital of Israel Submitted by NuritG (United States), Feb 4, 2014 at 01:32 ALL countries and mainstream media do not want acknowledge, not pretend, that Jerusalem is the capital of the nation state of the Jewish people, Israel. This is disrespectful, insulting, wrong – politically and diplomatically – and has an anti-Semitic tone to it. Jerusalem has been the capital of Israel and the kingdom of Judea for over 3,000 and NO other conqueror, who ruled the land at some point or another, had made Jerusalem his capital. Tel Aviv is a modern city of just over 100 years and will never replace the glory, the holiness and the gold glamour of Jerusalem. All of the Government of Israel's offices and the home of its Legislative Body, the Knesset, operate from Jerusalem. In the '80th the USA Congress has passed a law to move the USA Embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem but not one president, since the law was passed has had the gumption to say, enough of this disrespectful game, time to move our embassy to where it should reside, Jerusalem. So, since the law was passed every USA president used his pen to postpone the move. What a shame.
