Joseph Lumbard is just as badReader comment on item: "Antisemite Max Blumenthal Incites Murder of Three in Kansas" Submitted by dhimmi no more (United States), Apr 17, 2014 at 08:57 Dr. Pipes If you think that Max Blumenthal is strange then check this one: Jospeh Lumbard who teaches Islamic Studies at Brandeis University and who was stupid enough to convert to islam and become a Sufi which is regarded by his Arab masters as no more than Kufr http://www.brandeis.edu/departments/nejs/faculty/lumbard.html He was one of the leaders of the recent anti-Ayaan Hirsi Ali "Grassroot campaign" at Brandeis University He is a glorious graduate of Yale University where he earned a PhD degree in islamic studies and for this I say Masha'allah and he is very much in love Sufi style! Alhamdullialh Here is his twitter account https://twitter.com/JosephLumbard And here is his youtube account by I urge readers to take an anti-nausea medication before watching his collection of Islamic videos https://www.youtube.com/user/jelumbard I have not been able to assess his command of Arabic and I'm still going through his youtube videos He had a interesting little chat with no other than Robert Spencer on twitter and this professor that is supposed to be interested in love Sufi style was far from practicing what he is supposed to preach which makes him a hypocrite He wrote a tweet and asked Spencer if he speaks, reads and writes Arabic and Persian? And did Spnecer earn a PhD degree like him form Yale? And why should Spencer know Persian? or Arabic for this matter or earn a PhD from Yale? Only Allahu A3lam By his very poor logic I would ask him this is he also saying that al-Tabari should not have written his Quranic tafseer after all he did not earn a PhD degree from Yale either and should al-Suyuti not have written his books because he did not graduate from Yale either and did not speak read or write Persian? And any serious student of Islam should have very good knowledge of not just Arabic but also the languages of the late antique wrold including Hebrew and Syriac and Greek as well as the ability to read primary sources in Ethiopic, Coptic, Armenian and Persian and such student should be very familiar with the tools of literary criticism and should be very familiar with the literary criticism of the Bible both OT and NT and this student should be very familiar with the history of the late antique world By reading his tweets I can conclude that he is saying that he knows his Arabic and Persian and that he earned a PhD from Yale and that he has annoying youtube account He is just as strange as Max Blumenthal Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes.
