Israel - Lost a War? - HardlyReader comment on item: Lessons of the War in Gaza Submitted by M. Tovey (United States), Aug 27, 2014 at 16:06 Let's see if we have this right: Israel has not lost any territory, control of the Temple Mount/East Jerusalem or any perceptible reduction in their ability to pound any anti-Semitic insurgency into a hudna; and somehow that translates into a misguided western media perception that Israel 'lost' a war? Certainly, Israel is being hammered from absolutely every direction, both in the field and in the political realm, all ostensibly to the 'Palestinian' influenced narrative that by every other perception than Israel's that Israel has lost any 'moral' ground in the fight for their very lives, indeed their very existence. But does this still translate as having lost the war? Nope: by a certain directive, not enough blood has been spilled yet; and we are not talking about Israeli blood. The war commenced in 1949 by an Arab led invective that Israel will not stand the test of time is far from being over. There are, to quote Wells, 'things to come;' and it is not pretty to contemplate. And if quoting a secular source is not compelling enough, leave us not forget that there is the Biblical imperative that is in full implementation; but we'll allow that to play itself out before the insatiable media.
