An Answer for BradCarter et al: Yes, I do.Reader comment on item: Will Annapolis Renew the "Peace Process"? Submitted by mariana (United States), Nov 26, 2014 at 16:42 Thank you for discovering and responding to this post; I'd long ago forgotten it and am quite happy to revisit it today, particularly with this "... Third verse, same as the First, a little bit louder a little bit worse..." going on. The answer to your question is Yes, I do. I believe the only viable solution for Israeli Jews and Israeli and "Palestinian" arabs is one nation state - Israel - from the Jordan River to the Mediterranean Sea, maintaining Golan Heights, etc. with an undivided Jerusalem as its capitol. Any other "solution" is nothing more than a chimerical illusionary 'way station' in between eternal bouts of conflict. From what I've seen, "Palestinians" in Gaza live lives lower than dogs in most civilized countries. No sewage, no garbage pick up, no water, no electricity, no jobs, no security, no, no, no, no.... nothing except filthy thugs with automatic weapons strutting around intimidating and extorting and threatening and forceably using them and their children as hostages; and their "schools" and many of their own homes to store and/or shoot off rockets at Israel. This is the reality of Gazastan [i.e.: The Palestinian State] and so long as they're happy with it, I'm cool with it. Palestinian arabs who wish to live civilized lives in a viable economy where they actually get to have jobs and send their kids to real schools which will teach them literacy and life skills - as opposed to "schools" which forceably indoctrinate them into a nihilistic Cult of Death; a country where they actually get to vote for dcmocratic representation and live under the same system of Laws as their neighbor, and where they might worship as they choose freely and without coersion - -- it seems to me this would be several levels above Abbasabad, Fatahland. Dare I even mention the differences that would accrue to lives of girl children and women ????? I think the extremely generous and practical offer by Egyptian Pres. al-Sisi to give to the "Palestinians" a large portion of Sinai - adjacent to Gazastan and 5x the size, is the most rational solution I've heard in years.. Of course, this would thwart those whose "dog in the manger" mentality [including Obama, Kerry & Rice, Hamas, Fatah & Iran] deem taking something away from Jews far more important than giving something good to Palestinian arabs, but some things will never change. I pray, I pray. mariana Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes. Original writing only, please.
