Coincidence When Hagel Was Fired?

Reader comment on item: Adding Turkey to the "State Sponsors of Terrorism" List

Submitted by Dave (United States), Nov 28, 2014 at 12:17

I find the timing of this interesting. Hagel had warm relations with the Israelis, and I wonder if the recent visit by Ya'alon in which he warned about Turkey and Hamas could have caused Hagel to question Turkey's status as a strategic ally, thereby antagonizing Obama, who is very close to Erdogan. This is not impossible, as Obama has continued to free Gitmo terrorists despite evidence of recidivism.
