Who is going to stand behind Saudi Arabia ?Reader comment on item: Why Yemen Matters Submitted by Jon, a Brit in Euroland (France), Apr 1, 2015 at 05:19 Seems to me that Saudia Arabia has got to find someone to stand behind it, otherwise the only nation in the world to be called by the family name of it's ruler is going to be in trouble. Since the Quincy meeting in 1945 the US had Saudi's back. That's now about dead... and it died on the day the US did not respond to the "Cut off the head of the snake" demand, and is being buried today in Yemen. Russia would be a good replacement candidate... if Russia didn't have Iran's back to rub... Israel (which would make a lot of sense) is a bit of a non starter... My suggestion would be India, an elegant way of putting Israel in there as well....(how to negotiate that with Pakistan ?)
