As الله رسول محمد or Allah is the messenger of Muhammad because the proper Arabic is محمد الله رسول or Muhammad the messenger of Allah

distortion of meaning.

So if I understand you you seem to agree with me

Then explain to me why are moderate Muslims that know their Arabic silent about what that flag says

I hate to disappoint you but the word اقرأ in اقرأ باسم ربك does not mean READ but it means call or proclaim after all your so called prophet was امّي so he could not read and if we are to believe the Islamic sources the Qur'an was not yet revealed so he was reading nothing

Oh even the Arab grammarian Ibn 'Ubaida tells us that the word اقرأ does not mean read but it means ذكر
