This agenda implies the denial of the US' specific additions to Western culture. The term eurocentric is a contradiction in itself. Europe has enjoyed a large variety of cultures, schools of thought and a range of foreign policy practices. There is no cultural or political center of Europe. Contrast that to the Middle East which is centered around Islamic culture, practice and doctrine. It is one big onion with the Koran right in the center. If Descartes had been a Middle-Eastern philosopher he would have said: I follow Islam, thus I am. What Descartes actually said is somewhat more, dare I say, eurocentric...
