Historical Facts That Need Consideration that were not addressed in your comment.Reader comment on item: Does Europe Have No-go Zones? Submitted by Tom (United States), Aug 22, 2015 at 14:33 I see several errors in your writing. 1. Your explanation of the Crusades as examples of Christian violence. Were the Crusades violent? Yes, because it was a violent time. However, you omit the need for that violence. The Crusades were nothing more than an effort to regain what had been taken from the Christians, the Holy Land. Had the Moslems not invaded and conquered Christian lands, there would have been no need to re-conquer these lands. - The initial reason for the Crusades was a plea for help by the Byzantine Emperor to prevent the Islamic hordes from overrunning his Empire in 1071. Even then, it took the Western European Christians 25 years to respond to his request. 2. The Ottoman Caliph/Sultan allowed the Jews the right to unlimited immigration to that portion of his Empire in 1813. The Jews arrived, dug wells, planted crops, irrigated those crops, built homes, villages and roads. The Jews turned a desert into an oasis. The local Moslems complained about this and wanted the Caliph to prohibit the Jews from buying property from Moslems and he told them to "stick it". The local Moslems complained to the British about the Jews buying property from Moslens and the British tried to appease them and issued laws prohibiting these sales and purchases. 3. In the early 1700s, the House of Wahhab and the House of Saud completed their alliance and thus began the plan for the Arab Islamic resurgence. About 1920, overt Islamic aggression resumed. 4. Prime Ministers Gladstone and Churchill warned the British Parliament, and therefore the world, about the not to distant dangers of a resurging Islamic aggression. 1910, the World Missionary Conference met in Edinburgh, Scotland and the agenda was how to stop the southward advance below the 10 parallel of Islam in Africa. 1938, Hillaire Belloc said, "Our grandsons and great grandsons will once again be resisting Islamic aggression. The last of Churchill's 4 warnings on the danger of Islam came in the early 1950s. Gladstone issued several warnings. 5. The Moslem Brotherhood decided that the United States must be destroyed first if there was to be an worldwide Islamic caliphate. Sayeed Qutb came to this realization in the mid-1940s during his 3 year stay in the US. America was too corrupt to be reformed and had to be destroyed, the movies, freedom of women, promiscuity, drugs, and much more. Qutb was to later write the philosophy for the Moslem Brotherhood. Besides, he knew the US would help any nation threatened by Islam, but no one would help us. Besides, he was watch the US trash the Nazis, the allies of the Moslem North Africans. Besides, after allying themselves with the Nazis the Moslems Arabs were lucky to get anything, let alone 90% of the Palestine Mandate. "The Looming Towers: Al Qaeda and the Road to 9/11". - Lawrence Wright. This books provides the source for most of what I have written above. I am not at home and cannot recall the rest, ask if interested. Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes.
