The rotten state of SwedenReader comment on item: Sweden's Populist Surge Submitted by Bengt (Switzerland), Aug 26, 2015 at 07:51 I left Sweden for Britain after the debacle with the Bildt government So I return to Sweden mainly in the summer holidays. The problem with my native country is - since more then 40 years it is governed by a powerful permanent kleptocratic left wing bureaucracy. I call it " the Deep state," created by Olof Palme and Ingvar Carlsson. If you have read Roland Huntfords book "The New Totalitarians" you know what I mean. So it does not have much meaning to vote in elections for parliament. The political outcome will be about the same. When I left there were six parties, nowadays there is eight. But they all drive about the same policies, with very small differences. The Sweden Democrats voters are mainly former social democrats, frustrated by the collapse of the Welfare State. They are today polling about 20 %. The SAP social democrats today gets about 25 %. In old days the SAP used to get about 45%, and then governed with help of the communists for 44 years without interruption. The main problem for Swedish democracy, it is the behavior of the parties that formed the Alliance (M; Fp; C and KD). They says one thing when in opposition, and sometimes they win, because people expect and thirst for change. When in office they soon capitulate and become puppets to the leftwing permanent bureaucracy. So they are never really in power of governing. The policies of the last Alliance government, which lost last year, was a marxist experiment with the Swedish people and their tax monies, that Gramsci and Horkheimer would be proud of. Some examples: * Essential public services as hospitals - standard going down, even if costs goes up. * Police and justice system just a joke, have lost control of part of the territory - no go zones for police in Malmö and Gothenburg. Police commissioner Dan Eliasson was formerly head of the Migration office. So his appointment was a way to make sure that the police never would investigate the fraud and corruption in this part of the public sector. * Defence forces more or less dissolved after 2009. Regardless of Russias invasion of Georgia 2008. * Education in maths and science run down to third world levels, to help the spread of global warming mania. * Unrestricted immigration of "paperless people" is just a symptom of the moldering state of Sweden. Now latest the government is also considering to ban cash money. So the state over the Riksbank can be free to just steal money, without democratic decisions. One of Reinfeldts favorite ideas seems to be taken direct from Berchold Brecht: daß das Volk Das Vertrauen der Regierung verscherzt habe Wäre es da Nicht doch einfacher, die Regierung Löste das Volk auf und Wählte ein anderes? (If the government lose the trust in its people - would it not be better they dissolved it - and chose an other people.) As an immigrant and foreigner in other countries for 1/3 of my life I don't have more sympathy for the SD then you have. But don't expect them to fade away soon.
