Brit living in SwedenReader comment on item: Sweden's Populist Surge Submitted by Henry Law (Sweden), Aug 26, 2015 at 13:30 As a Brit living in Sweden, I have to say this is an accurate summary of the current mood. The mainstream politicians are out of touch with public opinion on just about any issue one cares to mention planning, the environment, taxation, economic policy - there is a complete disconnect. The same goes for the press, desperate to avoid accusations of racism. It is not particularly confined to Sweden, though Denmark and Norway have succeeded in moving on. The situation can not continue. Muslim immigrants are conspicuously and consciously asserting their separate identity and failing to assimilate. The rising crime rates are mostly attributable to them, though other migrants from South-East Europe are also responsible. The general view is that enough is enough.
