Where is Islamic humility and spiritualityReader comment on item: Mirror Image: Palestinians Continue to Mimic Zionism Submitted by Prashant (United States), May 23, 2016 at 00:06 Dear Dr Pipes, as I see various Islamic factions fighting incessantly for their rights all across the world, I often wonder if humility and spirituality exists in the Islamic world. I am not saying that it does not exist but I feel that the section of Islamic population that is humble and spiritual is simply outnumbered by the noisy and militant faction. I hope I am not reading you wrong but I think in your observation about Islamists mirroring Zionists, you have highlighted essentially the same point. When Jewish people organize trips to the Holy Land for their youth I can see the sacredness and piety of the purpose. As you pointed out the copy-cat trips by the, so called, Palestinians appear impious at the very outset. You correctly pointed out that the former builds while latter destroys. I am sorry but in the day-to-day conduct of Muslims, humility and spirituality seem to be missing. I wish we get to see a kinder and gentler version of Islam.
