Israel and the LeftReader comment on item: The Left vs. Israel Submitted by Martin Schaffel (United States), May 31, 2016 at 13:39 Many middle east countries know that Iran and ISIS is a present and even a greater future threat to their survival. They also know that Israel is quickly replacing the United States as the only military power in the region that can offer them some protection against this threat. Therefore regardless of their cultural hatred of Israel, they have no alternative but to temporarily change their policies toward the Jewish state. Europe on the other hand is using appeasement to try and protect itself from the Iranian and ISIS threat. Acting in unison and with their anti Jewish historical backgrounds, the European countries are siding against Israel in any arena on the world stage hoping they will be left alone from future aggression by Iran and ISIS. They have furthered their theory by opening their boarders to millions of middle east immigrants to show their compassion for the Arab nations. Those countries which have decided to work with Israel are realists and will fight to survive the coming threat. The European nations that have chosen appeasement for their survival are doomed to repeat history. For as history has shown, appeasement only results in the destruction of those that use it.
