ChoicesReader comment on item: Blowback from Criticizing Trump Submitted by Joe (United States), Jul 25, 2016 at 18:03 "there is a 3rd option" Agreed. And it doesn't stop there. There are more options. Of course with every choice it faces consequences. We all know (I hope) it will be either Trump or Clinton this time. Increasing momentum of a third choice or not. But I'm not going into the business of telling you what you need to do, because that's your choice. And voting is less important than putting a blog up or talk with other people about politics. But there is the fact that if it is either Clinton or Trump then you risk the Clinton presidency. It is obvious that you can sleep better with it than voting for the (in your eyes) other evil. That's a little bit like sitting with some company in a boat which sinks and let the two parties decide what to do: Drilling a hole or fixing it. Hillary wants more "refugees". Trump is going to safe the borders. There is no reason to believe he would lie in this case. Because he was running against the mainstream. Voting for a third candidate will have no effect in reality when this candidate has no chance. That's just a statistical fact. It is like burying the head in the sand and expect all others to make the choice. In reality there is the choice between a refugee/invader crisis like in Europe or to regain control of at least a little bit of what we have to deal with here in America. However, I think Trump will make it anyways. Because there are many people who know how important the election this year is. After 8 years of deception and lies. All those people have my deepest respect! And you have a few months to rethink your conclusion: Risking a collapse of the America we know soon. Or voting for somebody who you would not like but at least having the chance to stop the sellout of America. And give him a chance for 4 years and then check what he did. I think your conclusions about Trump is rooted in media sources who lie. If you would really watch him on youtube, you would see he is a guy who tries to fix the things what went wrong in the last years. He's not perfect of course. I'm a libertarian, by the way. I'm all in for lean government. Left or right, liberal or conservative is more or less the same problem. They all favor too much government. But even a lean federal government must be effective: Securing the borders, taking responsibility of foreign affairs. And regarding Islam we can decide if we want to deal with it another 1400 years or if we finally start defeating it so it can not grow again. Like the world did with the Nazis. It will not vanish with indifference! Best Regards!
