I'm glad the oddsmakers don't choose our presidents

I agree with your estimate of Donald Trump. His campaign manager's intent, in orchestrating the Republican Convention, was to show people the side of Donald that people normally don't see -- the side seen by people who actually know him. I think he succeeded with many viewers; and Trump pulled ahead of Hillary as a result. Now that the lawyer Hillary has had her day in court, though (with the Democratic Convention), I expected some reversal; and indeed, Hillary did recover some ground. The two are essentially neck-and-neck now, with Clinton ahead by 0.4%. That's a far cry from the betting odds a year ago, which called for an overwhelming Clinton victory, challenged by Jeb Bush. I'm glad the oddsmakers don't choose our presidents.
