Jews in the Middle EastReader comment on item: Encyclopedia of Jews in the Islamic World Submitted by DP (India), Dec 17, 2016 at 01:45 Daniel Pipes - sir, yes it is sad to see a peaceful group being relentlessly persecuted in this manner in so many countries. Commiserations to all Jews who have suffered over the centuries. I have interacted with many Jews in India visiting from the US and other countries and always found them to be warm and intelligent people. I had a question for Daniel Pipes sir: what is the reason for the few Jews to be concentrated in Morocco, Turkey and Iran? Are these countries relatively less persecutory? I know that Turkey is partly influenced by European ideals and probably safer but what about Iran and Morocco? There was an article that mentioned that Iran is the least anti semitic muslim country (while Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Afghanistan etc are very anti semitic). Comments are screened and in some cases edited before posting. Reasoned disagreement is welcome but not comments that are scurrilous, off-topic, commercial, disparaging religions, or otherwise inappropriate. For complete regulations, see the "Guidelines for Reader Comments". Daniel Pipes replies: Those three regimes have persecuted their Jews the least since the 1940s, though in all three the numbers continue significantly to decline. Reader comments (6) on this item
