Regarding Mattis

His being against "political Islam" is wonderful and may incline him in favor of Israel.

I have to say I watched him saying that ultimately building settlements may push Israel into either threatening its majority or turning it into an apartheid state as being very different in kind and in intent from Kerry's statements.

Kerry came across as actively encouraging slandering Israel now as an apartheid state in an effort to put the squeeze on Israel. Mattis seemed to impart friendly advice regarding what may happen in the future.

This relates to their different roles and also, I think, to a very different attitude.
