Strategic Global View and Proactive Tactics for Israeli VictoryReader comment on item: A Palestinian Defeat is Good for All Submitted by Robert (United States), Dec 28, 2016 at 12:44 Dear Daniel Pipes, You have written another, brief, but excellent article to solve the "Palestinian Question"; it is useful to remind your audience that before 1948 every major empire or country asked this question regarding the status of Jews, and it was dubbed the "Jewish Question." After Hitler "only" succeeded in killing 6,000,000 Jews by 1945, three (3) later the world recognized Israel, which came into existence when Great Britain abandoned its Mandate over Palestine and Israel declared itself a Sovereign state, and the world, through the United Nations, recognized it as such. Nevertheless, about five (5) Arab countries launched a war against the "Israeli entity," resulting in "Palestinian Refugees" and "Disputed Territories." This brings me to the myth of Law, and particularly International Law. Unlike Divine Law, which is given by God and practiced by Religious Believers, or Natural Law, this Legal Law is instituted by Custom or Legislation. But it is enforce by Police Power. There are 193 member states and each enforces laws within the borders of its jurisdiction. International Law, on the other hand, "legislates" international law through its Security Council of 15 members. So, in that context, what is the way to victory for Israel ? I suggest that the United States and Israel confront the powers in Syria, force Iran, and its proxy, Hezbollah out, and declare the option of Reconstruction in Syria, particularly in the South, bordering Israel, where Palestinians may Settle and eventually acquire Citizenship (not in Israel). The fact that the Assad family well known position is that Palestine is part of Greater Syria, is not only true historically, but a door opened to solve the Palestinian Refugee and Statelessness Problem. This would also give back to the Sunnis their due (Palestinians are mostly Sunnis). It would also be good for Putin, because Russia's Muslims are also mostly Sunnis. In addition, everything should be done to encourage Statehood for the Kurds. The Kurds are also Sunni, and most able to govern themselves. Turkey is Islamist under Erdogan; for the time being, it no longer represents the interests of NATO, Europe, or Israel - and will not do so until it returns to its Kemalist secular status. Obviously, the Palestinians can only engage in Asymmetrical Warfare: Suicide Vests, Rockets, Tunnels, Knives, Trucks. But that is not so in the North and East of Israel. Under Donald Trump, I suggest that war against Iran and Hezbollah, and perhaps Hamas, may be the way to solve, finally, the Palestinian Question. And if there is do be a Palestinian Capitol, it should be Ramallah, while Jerusalem remaining the undivided Capitol of Israel (East and West). In summary, I think that War against Iran and its Ayatollah regime is inevitable, and that this defeat of Iran will, not too paradoxically, lead to Peace, and better lives for Palestinians who are just like the Syrian Refugees - displaced by wars of Arab or Muslim origins.
