Kim Jong Un might finally have found an adversary that keeps him awake at night.Reader comment on item: Will Donald Trump Be Impeached? Submitted by Michael S, Mar 18, 2017 at 21:33 Trump is mature. It's just that he's a mature banana instead of a mature apple; and people are looking for an apple. I'm glad The Donald picked Mike Pence for VP. That was a smart move -- sort of like Nixon picking Spiro Agnew. Nobody wanted to assassinate Nixon, because then they would get Agnew. You know, Conservatives don't assassinate anyone; and Pence is good insurance that now Leftie will want to get rid of the Big Blond. Speaking of Nixon, we have, "How might Nixon's 'madman theory' apply to Trump? "...Like Trump, Nixon was concerned to keep his adversaries guessing about his motives and temperament. Nixon never wanted the Soviets to feel confident that they knew what he would do, or that he wouldn't do something outrageous or irrational. His famous term for this tactic, recalled by H.R. Haldeman in his posthumously published diary, was the "madman theory." Nixon wanted the North Vietnamese, with whom the United States was negotiating a peace agreement, to feel a sense of apprehension about what the president might do if pushed to the brink..." -- https://www.washingtonpost.com/.../how-might-nixons-madman-theory-apply-to-trump/ Who ever would have thought, that Trump's best defense would come from WAPO? Yes, I sense this about the man I voted for. Having grandchildren in Red China, I think President Xi Jinping is genuinely aprehensive, probably with good cause, that The Donald will set off the Big One if he pushes him too far. Despite Tricky Dick having coined the "madman" phrase, though, the US President most ready to press the red button was not Nixon, but his nemesis, John F. Kennedy. I was probably closer to meeting my Maker in 1962, at age 14, than I am now, at age 69 and with a heart condition -- as Soviet PM Nikita Khruschev nearly found out the hard way. It's ironic, that Donald Trump is considered whacko for wanting to make a deal with the Russians; but Kennedy was considered sane while he stoked the flames under the Cold War. Still, it's comforting to think that Kim Jong Un might finally have found an adversary that keeps him awake at night.
