Sorry Mr. Pipes, ... Part IReader comment on item: Palestinian Statehood Is Acceptable ... Eventually Submitted by Richard Martins (United States), May 21, 2017 at 13:12 Israel may no longer be endangered by multi Arab armies entering Israel to annihilate it but if the Arab Palestinians on the west bank have proven one thing in the almost 100 years since the 1929 massacre and expulsion of Hebron's Jews, it is they still hate the idea of a Jewish existence in their midst in any form other than as a dhimmi. That is proven not only by the thousands of terrorists in Israeli prisons but also by Abbas refusing to say openly that the PA accepts a Jewish Israel as a reality. Abbas and the PLO would like to now turn the clock back to the year 1947 and recast their "No" UN vote to a "Yes" vote for a nation. So simple and easy to do, right? But you cannot erase History so easily. Nor erase the deaths, pain and suffering Jews had to endure to avoid a Middle East Holocaust following so closely to the European horror. There is a price to pay for that and to be extracted from these tormentors of Jews. Peace agreements with nations like Egypt and Jordan is one thing. But craving a nation out of the west bank for a people who never had one in the first place is quite another. Where is there a Palestinian apology for killing so many Jews over more than six decades? Where are the concessions to Israel to show they have changed? There are not only none, but boasts by the PA that no Jews will be allowed to even live in this newly created state on Jewish Biblical land. Besides, how could Jews live there in safety and security even if Abbas relented from his ultra racist Judenrein policy? PA police would be more likely to kill a Jew than protect him or her. And Arab civilian killers of Jews would never be brought to justice by a Palestinian state. It is a fact that every time land is turned over to Arabs, it becomes Jew free and forbidden to Jews. Palestinians can never be made the stewards and custodians of Jewish security and safety. It is absurd on its face. If Palestinian Arabs have proven anything in the past 100 years since the massacre of Hebron, it is enduring hate for Jews in their midst. What principle or premise requires Jews to turn over what is ancestral Jewish land to a party that has shown nothing but belligerence as well as denying the essence of Judasim and even of universally accepted Jewish History? It is no coincidence that Abbas made his mark as a Holocaust denier. Now he denies the relationship of Jerusalem or of Israel itself, to the Jewish people while an important PA member, Saeb Erekat, claims he is a Canaanite thrown off his land by the Biblical Joshua. Is the latter a joke? Maybe and maybe not. This hatred and denial of Jewish religion and history are the basis of "two states side by side living in Peace"? The Resolution conferring statehood on Palestine will have a UN addendum saying "Whatever Palestine does to Israel and to Jews, just make sure you, Israel, never lay a glove on it in any shape or manner ...or else" And Jews and Israel will enter a new struggle for their existence while facing a entire no -go zone quite legal sanctuary for terrorists called Palestine and continued sanctions by an increasingly more Muslim Europe on Israeli businesses, universities whenever Israel complains. Palestinian efforts by Abbas to move away from major armed overthrow of the nation of Israel to heavy handed diplomatic efforts to instead "negotiate" a Palestine is not due to any change of heart on the part of the Palestinians. It is due to the simple fact that Israel won all those wars and the refusal by Egypt and Jordan to sacrifice any more soldiers in that effort. Hamas is still committed to the destruction of Israel by all means necessary. Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes.
