Trump Regime a Test of W.F. Buckley's TheoryReader comment on item: Trump Gives Special Prominence to his Family and Friends Submitted by Dave (United States), May 27, 2017 at 11:33 William F. Buckley once said that he would rather have the United States run by the first 400 people listed in the Boston phone book than by the Harvard faculty. Well, when you look at Trump's picks and their qualifications we somewhat have that. Honestly, I was hoping for more in the way of well-known conservative think-tank intellectuals rather than friends, family, the military brass, or business cronies. But who knows? Maybe it will all work out in the end. May the Lord inspire them with common sense and virtuous instincts to make up for any lack of specialized training. And then we'll see if Buckley was right.
