"Never Trump" seems to have gained ground. What say you, Daniel Pipes?Reader comment on item: Trump Gives Special Prominence to his Family and Friends Submitted by Michael S, Aug 21, 2017 at 02:15 "...he cares intensely about the views of two groups of people: the small one of fellow New York City business leaders and the large one of his voters So, they are the effective interest groups..." Trump is on the verge of losing one member of his "voters" interest group, namely, me. I'll make up my mind in a few days. I have been influenced by an article in "Vanity Fair" (which, however, is not on any "trusted" list of mine among media outlets): "Bannon's main targets are the West Wing's coterie of New York Democrat "globalists"—Ivanka Trump, Jared Kushner and former Goldman Sachs president Gary Cohn—as well as the "hawks," comprised of National Security Adviser H.R McMaster and his deputy, Dina Powell. "He wants to beat their ideas into submission," Breitbart News Editor-in-Chief Alex Marlow told me. "Steve has a lot of things up his sleeve."" Trusted or not, Vanity Fair takes the trouble to name its source. That's worth something nowadays. With Bannon gone, 666 Jared Kushner is the last man standing among Trump's main early team. I have stuck with the President, as long as he seemed to be in charge, something evidenced by the fact that he managed to keep Bannon and Kushner together at his side. That era has ended, and there is clearly war now in the Republican Party. If 666 Kushner is indeed "the beast" of the Book of Revelation, as I have speculated for several months, he will win and the others (including Trump) will lose. "Never Trump" seems also to have gained ground, with Bannon's leaving. How are you taking that, Daniel Pipes? PS. Behind Kushner, I am told, are Soros and Kissinger. Soon, it may be said, "Trump has slain his thousands, and Kushner his tens of thousands." -- a pity, that Kushner probably doesn't even know that's in the Bible.

I agree with Peter Wehner that Republicans need to develop and intellectual and organizational movement apart from Trump in the hopes of picking up the pieces after he is gone.
