A few questions for Dr. PipesReader comment on item: On Recent Saudi Reforms: A Conversation Submitted by There is NO Santa Claus (United States), Dec 5, 2017 at 17:38 Hi Doc! This is a little bit off-subject, but let me give it a whirl. I think you'll know where I'm going with it. Many years ago, the United States passed legislation making it illegal for U.S. corporations to comply with the Arab League boycott of Israel. These laws are (as best I know) still on the books and in force. (Please confirm.) The scuttlebutt on the street says that KSA needs cash. In order to raise cash, they are said to be planning a public offering of ARAMCO. So assuming there are still anti-boycott laws in effect, can KSA sell shares of ARAMCO on American stock exchanges without making a dramatic change in their relation with Israel? So that's my biggest question. A smaller question is: What the heck is going on in KSA with all these arrested billionaire Saudi Royal Family members? What goal(s) is the King pursuing? Some have speculated that this too (in some way) is related to going public with ARAMCO. Strange things going on! I trust your opinion over those clods in the news media. They're barely even covering the story. Regards, There is NO Santa Claus
