The response to MSM as well Media hacks! Can we learn from Nassim Nicholas Talib and Jordan Peterson?Reader comment on item: Anatomy of a Media Error: MEF and the Koch Brothers Submitted by dhimmi no more (United States), Mar 24, 2018 at 09:21 Dr. Pipes It is for sure wonderful to see responses by Nassim Nicholas Talib (NNT) to anyone who dare to poke bogus holes in his books! And this is what he does: He proves that the commentator has no clue about what he is really saying. Then he goes on the attack and ridicule the writer. And it seems to work very nicely The readers can check his responses to a reviewer of his latest book "Skin in the Game" and it is available on twitter This does not mean that I suggest that authors should humiliate reviewers that disagree with them, but it seems to be working A more sinister example is an Indian "scholar" who reviewed Jordan Peterson's book "12 Rules" His name is Pankaj Mishra And here is a link to the review http://www.nybooks.com/daily/2018/03/19/jordan-peterson-and-fascist-mysticism/ The title is: "Jordan Peterson and Fascist-Mysticism"! He claims that Jordan Peterson is a fascist and he is a friend of a native Canadian because he is "harmlessly romancing the noble savage"! What Mishra is not aware of is that Charles Joseph (Peterson's friend) is a victim of the residential schools in Canada! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Canadian_Indian_residential_school_system Mishra's review descends into the usual regressive left "identity politics" oh and "islamophobia"! But what does Islamophobia has anything to do with Peterson's book? We are not invited to know But most damaging to Mishra's review (as per the NY Book Review) is his claim that Alexander Solzhenitsyn's book: "The Gulag Archipelago" is a "novel"! Which is far from the truth and the NY Book Review had to correct it and for this check the note at the end of the review. Yes it can be just a mistake but I suspect he more likely than not never read the book and if so why should we believe his review of the book? Then Mishra is not happy that Solzhenitsyn liked Putin! This is true because Solzhenitsyn was a Russian nationalist and nothing wrong with that and his book "the Gulag Archipelago" was about the suffering of Russians under Stalin and communism Also notice that in the link provided by Mishra this support of Putin was in 2006! I guess we will never know if Solzhenitsyn (D 2008) would still be supporting Putin in 2018! Jordan Peterson went on the attack on twitter and called Mishra: Racist, SOB and F..k you etc... and it seems to have worked then he sent a well written response to NY Book Review about the crazy rantings by Mishra and here is the link https://jordanbpeterson.com/media/kwakwakawakw-controversy/ The moral of the story it seems to me that the best way to deal with MSM hacks is to go on the offensive: Prove them wrong and insult them and it seems to work.
