Muslims should read translations of Quran in their mother tongues.Reader comment on item: The Muslim Brotherhood's American Goals Submitted by Prashant, Jul 24, 2018 at 21:44 Dear Dr Pipes, No religion is perfect. Islam is not perfect either. But most Muslims do not know it. I think Muslim people's opinion of Islam comes from what they hear from their neighbors (99% of whom in most cases are other Muslims), their local mullahs, their politicians, and their grand-mothers. But according to the Islamic doctrine --and luckily so-- only correct version of Islam is what is described in the Quran and some Hadiths. So it behooves upon Muslims to read the Quran in the best possible translations of Quran in their mother tongues that they can find. And before they start reading they should ponder upon whether calls to kill others for their beliefs is a good idea? And if golden rule is a good rule or not? And should not all people follow the golden rule? And is democracy and freedom of thought are good ideas? Then, if they read the Quran in a reflective mood, they will find that Islam is not as perfect as it made out to be. Highlighting Islam's imperfections is not my purpose here but I hope that if Muslims see some shortcomings of Islam, probably they will not be so inclined to annihilate the Jews and other infidels as the Danish Mullah quoted by DNM is in the above link.
