Well Founded Fear.

Reader comment on item: Poland's Muslim Ban

Submitted by Reynald de Chatillon (United States), Aug 6, 2018 at 00:08

Many Europeans, Israelis and Americans are fearful for the future of their children and grandchildren facing the prospect of living in an Islamic dominated state. These fears are well founded. On a number of occasions I have made references to a book entitled "They Must Be Stopped" by Brigitte Gabriel (2008). On page 38 she writes: "By 1905 the West had liberated its territory previously conquered and savaged by Islam, and declared an economic and military victory, thus marking the end of 1,400 years of Islamic rule and jihad. During this period, Muslims had killed 270 million people across the globe: 120 million Africans, 60 million Christians, 80 million Hindus and 10 million Buddhists". These statistics are truly horrific, if true. Do you concur with these figures?

(She does name her source for this information. It is Jamie Glazov, "The Infidel Revolution", frontpagemag.com,February 21, 2007).

She also writes on page 36: "Dhimmi were forced to wear distinctive clothing; it was Baghdad's caliph Al-Mutawakkil, in the 9th century, who designated a yellow badge for Jews under Islam, which Hitler copied and duplicated in Nazi Germany centuries later".

Daniel Pipes replies:

I agree with Gabriel's general point but not the numbers. To cite just one, 1905 was 1322-23 in the hijri calendar, much closer to 1,300 years than 1,400 years.
