Myth: Marshall Plan for Africa is the solution to the migrant crisis from poor African countries? May be!Reader comment on item: Who Are Europe's Most Important Politicians? Submitted by dhimmi no more, Aug 13, 2018 at 17:18 Myth: It stands to reason that Germany in particular, and Europe in general, should spend the money for accommodating the "huddled masses" from Africa through creating jobs and industries, improving agriculture and education in Africa. Yes, I realize that corruption is rampant in Africa. However, through German efficiency and managerial skills, this money could help not just a few but whole countries. Not unlike the Marshall Plan for Europe. I happen to believe that even here in the Americas, the best way out of the immigration mess is a Marshall Plan for Central America. It was truly pathetic that Obama wanted to see Angela Merkel as the leader of the "Free World"! And like Obama, she is not going to be judged kindly by historians. BTW: I suspect that sooner or later, many Syrians will return to Syria! Syria before the war was far more advanced when compared with Africa. And may be also Syria needs a Marshall Plan Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes. Original writing only, please.
