Question 3Reader comment on item: The Year the Arabs Discovered Palestine [Long version] Submitted by Ephraim Lior (United States), Sep 13, 2018 at 15:59 Mr. Pipes wrote "Palestine had always been, and at that time (1920) remained, a Jewish and Christian concept, utterly foreign to the Muslims" thus implying that Palestine existed before 1920. Then the title of the respective chapter "The British Creation of Palestine" becomes confusing. Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes. Original writing only, please. Comments are screened and in some cases edited before posting. Reasoned disagreement is welcome but not comments that are scurrilous, off-topic, commercial, disparaging religions, or otherwise inappropriate. For complete regulations, see the "Guidelines for Reader Comments". Daniel Pipes replies: The concept has long existed. The reality only came into being after World War I.
