Explaining Trumpism to Daniel PipesReader comment on item: Hints of Trump's Forthcoming Palestinian-Israeli Plan Submitted by Robert (United States), Sep 15, 2018 at 08:35 Dear Daniel Pipes, I was amazed at Trump, from the bottom, defeated every Republican candidate, and then got himself elected President! From that point on I've been following very closely, more than any other USA President, fascinated by his phenomenal rise an acquisition of the Office in the White House. This, particularly after the eloquent rhetorician immediately before him - Obama! I am lucky in understanding Him (The Donald) I think for two reasons. Someone extremely close to me had similar consciousness and discourse characteristics that make up who he is. And also, I'm a New Yorker (Manhattan) like Donald. First, understand that Donald Trump is a Master Demagogue. He learned all that from Television, especially his show, The Apprentice. But also, recall his ownership of the beauty pageant. And in his real estate business, he marketed his name, "Trump," to be placed on "his" hotel's worldwide. So, you should not take anything he says, literally, as face value, the way you would from any of your "intellectual" sources, or even journalists who you respect. In brief, every comment Trump makes is designed to "sell" his Presidency - it is pure Salesmanship. Think, instead of an Old Car Salesman in the 1950's. Second, remember that Trump is or was in the Real Estate Business. Accordingly, Israel-Palestine is essentially an issue of disposing of parcels of land among Jews and Arabs in Israel and Palestine; everything else, is Secondary. Third, remember that his beloved oldest daughter, Ivanks, her husband Jared Kushner, and their three children are all Jewish, and may one day even live in Israel as Israelis, should they so elect. Fourth, remember that the Trump administration team working on the Israel Peace deal consists of the following extremely pro-Israel Jewish "troika": (1) Senior Advisor to the President, Jared Kushner (head), (2) Ambassador to Israel, David Melech Friedman, Trump's former Bankruptcy Lawyer & close friend, and (3) [President Trump's] Representative for International Negotiations, Jason Greenblatt,& Trump's lawyer since 1997; Greenblatt favor's a solution not "imposed,"(by UN, for example) but accepted by Israel and the Palestinians. Recall that Abbas refuses even to meet with Israeli and American negotiators because he feels the US (i.e., Trump) is "biased" in favor of Israel - which he is, of course. Recall that The Donald, as a Capitalist "businessman" wishes to strike a deal on Israel most favorable to Him (Trump). So he will not propose any terms that are in anyway unfavorable to His interests. And Trump's interests clearly lie with the Jewish side - Israel, not the Philistines. In summary, you listen to closely to Trump's announcements looking for revelations that Trump will give away something of value to Israel. But the only thing that counts regarding Trump is what He DOES, and not what He SAYS! Everything that President Donald Trump SAYS is merely to promote what he DOES. All of Trump's remarks are to be taken not Absolutely, but Relatively. That's why He is correct about the "Fake Media." The Media looks at every instance of his Tweets, for example, and reads them against him because he isn't liked by the Liberal Press. But it is also almost always to understand Trump in an opposite, Positive, way. In particular, when Trump says that Israel will have to pay price for his recognition of Jerusalem, that price may be One Penny (or less) - because that may be what Trump and Bibi (Netanyahu) may think is the "fair market value" - but no one else does.
