Expectations - of a Greater SortReader comment on item: Examining Qatar's Influence Submitted by MTovey (United States), Jan 30, 2019 at 18:35 There is irony sandwiched between the lines of this article, so much so that it took this observer several times to peruse before coming to the understanding that in many respects, it is a nice summation of circumstances of why the Middle East is about ready to implode/explode: and very few understand why. Think of the paradox; that a Wahhabist anti-western ideology would be engaged in the attempt to redefine the quasi-christian attitudes of an apostate society that cannot associate with previous generations, such as those who fought a materialistic and ideologically incongruous battle to a draw, each side not conceding that one or the other may come out on top; and who will rule over what all else failed to accomplish? In either case, based on this analysis of Dr. Pipes, neither will win, neither in ideology nor in practice. Here we find there is a close encounter of why; but who has the actual answer? Is there an expectation of that for February 6th? Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes. Original writing only, please. Comments are screened and in some cases edited before posting. Reasoned disagreement is welcome but not comments that are scurrilous, off-topic, commercial, disparaging religions, or otherwise inappropriate. For complete regulations, see the "Guidelines for Reader Comments". Daniel Pipes replies: Hoping so, yes. Reader comments (13) on this item
