Qatar etcReader comment on item: Examining Qatar's Influence Submitted by Anon (United States), Feb 4, 2019 at 12:21 Agree with Prashant's comments. Otherwise the country in the middle east that shows the most promise today is - surprisingly - Iran. We should not judge a country by its rulers. The people of Iran seem way ahead of the rest of the region. In that sense the alliance between the Saudis and Israel is harmful in the long run. The Arabs have their own agenda - they hate Israel but over the decades have found it to be impregnable. They hate Iran too because they are Shias but with Iran they have more traction especially if they can get the West on their side. It is sad that the West is falling for it.
