Six Day War AftermathReader comment on item: Poll: Israelis Find the Security Establishment "Too Timid" Submitted by Reynald de Chatillon (Australia), Jul 25, 2019 at 02:13 This should have been done in the immediate aftermath of the Six Day War in 1967. Had Israel done this then it probably would have passed relatively unnoticed, unlike today where we have news services such as CNN and Al Jazeera. The US was largely concerned with events in Vietnam, while Britain was also concerned with the Biafran War, to a lesser extent. I remember the events of the Six Day War quite well. Public opinion in my own country was very much in favour of Israel, there was very little support for the Arab cause at that time. I gather it was the same in the US and other western nations. Israel should have made better use of it's political capital while it had the chance. Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes.
