Population ExchangeReader comment on item: Poll: Israelis Find the Security Establishment "Too Timid" Submitted by Reynald de Chatillon (Australia), Jul 29, 2019 at 01:41 In 1923, at the end of hostilities, a population exchange was arranged by the Turkish and Greek governments, 355,000-400,000 Turks from Greece and 1, 200,000 Greeks were relocated from Turkey. There has been no further conflict between these two countries since then. Why didn't the Israeli government pursue this option? They had good reason to. Bear in mind the fact that some 900,000 Jews were expelled from Arab and and non-Arab Muslim countries in the decades after the creation of Israel in 1948. Daniel Pipes mentions that pursuing this option may incite further hatred and thirst for vengeance. However, could Muslim hatred of Jews and Christians be any more intense than it is now?
