Go Ahead, Make Our DayReader comment on item: Predicting the Fall-out from Qasem Soleimani's Death Submitted by David Ryan (United States), Jan 5, 2020 at 18:18 The Iranian nuclear threat would not just be regional but global. We now understand the capability of just one or two nuclear warheads detonated above the atmosphere to generate an electromagnetic pulse (EMP) that would destroy all electronics in a country, even the U.S., setting back technology 200 years for decades and producing mass starvation. This power cannot be allowed one moment in the hands of an apocalyptic theocracy bent on acquiring it. Between 2003 and 2008, Iran had been intentionally put between a hammer and an anvil with U.S. armies in Afghanistan and Iraq (forget WMD, pretext or not, Iran was always the ultimate target) but the U.S. government lost its nerve and will to finish the job. If Iran wants to restore the focus of the West on the their true and ultimate threat, go ahead, please, please, please.
