"Austere Religious Scholar" wins the cakeReader comment on item: The Folly of the Intellectuals Submitted by dhimmi no more (United States), Aug 17, 2020 at 15:07 Dr Pipes, I would add to your list a certain Joby Warrick who won a Pulitzer Prize in 2016 for writing a book "Black Flags and the rise ISIS" and now, Mashallah, he is an expert on the Middle East at WaPo. In his infamous obituary of the Islamic terrorist al-Baghdadi (who is responsible for the murder, rape and enslavement of the Yazidis), he describes him as an "Austere Religious Scholar"! Mash'allah! Notice that he does not call him an "Austere Islamic Religious Scholar" and I wonder why He was ridiculed, immediately, online and one of the best tweets was: "Adolf Hitler, dedicated art enthusiast, animal rights activist, and talented orator dies at age 56" https://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-50205592 And the editors at WaPo had to scrub their site of this vile nonsense and replace it with: "Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi Extremist Leader of Islamic State dies at age 48" Or, "Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi the Islamic terrorist who is responsible for the Yazidi Genocide and leader of THE Islamic State Known as Da'esh dies at age 48" Yes, he is for sure not an intellectual but the poor soul thinks otherwise.
