Very little to add, PrashantReader comment on item: The Western Mind of Radical Islam Submitted by A very concerned reader (Australia), Apr 1, 2021 at 20:28 Dr Pipes, Once again, I couldn't agree more with your reader Prashant. Unfortunately, modifying anything related to Islam whether we're talking about the Qur'an or the Hadiths, leaving aside what to do with the Shari'ah, is considered blasphemy. No Muslim in his sane mind would trying attemp to modify any word of these texts. A reinterpretation according to today's world laws and trends is not a possibility either since they say God's words were written for all times, and they can even attempt to prove you that all can be implemented today with positive results. Of course, positive results according to their mentality. To better illustrate this, they still defend polygamy although there's no widows like in war conflict times. How? They excuse this practice by stating that no one would marry a divorced woman unless he had already a "pure" bride. Polygamy was presented to me as a solution for ending up with divorced women's loneliness and financial problems. Shocked? No more than me, believe me! And there's nothing you can do to explain to Muslim men that polygamy is not ethical by any means. Or hitting a woman, after all Islamic attempts to correct women's behaviour have failed. Why? Because hitting is fine if they avoid divorce with it. No woman who respects herself can accept such a life unless she has been totally and completely brainwashed, her self-esteem totally eroded and her link to reality, absolutely distorted. And this is just an example. I could tell you about their thoughts related to financial topics such as retirement pensions and mortgages, zakat or the need of gender segregation, etc. There's no way they can change their point, despite embracing happily Western countries benefits. Still, they defend the Islamic lifestyle. Even they themselves show doble standards. And yes, most of them don't live entirely in an Islamic way. But they do pretend very well with the ones whom they need to. As you said in your last post, no thankfulness but entitlement and self-righteous feelings. Very ingrained in their psyches. I wish it could change, but im afraid I'm not positive anymore. And it's very sad. Thank you, Prashant for your comments. It's very refreshing to read them.
