Islamic charge sheet is pretty darn smallReader comment on item: Current Developments in Iran and Israel Submitted by Prashant (United States), Oct 21, 2021 at 10:15 Dear Dr Pipes, The good thing about Islam -if you can say that- is that it is well documented and it does not change. As we go around criticizing Islam, we run out of things pretty quickly. In how many different and new ways can a thing that does not change be wrong? Only finitely many. Islam would be a district attorney's dream accused. Imagine a culprit who gets caught doing almost the same violation every single time and leaves copies of his execution plan well documented in the city square!! The charge sheet against Islam is relatively small. Most important charges are very simple: 1. Treat women well. 2. Treat non-muslims at par. 3. Punish, but don't be cruel. Avoid beheadings, if possible. 4. Be reasonable and don't be literal when it comes to the scriptures. 5. Do not force lovelorn people to convert at the time of marriage. 6. Solve political problems peacefully. Make killing etc the last resort instead of the first. 7. Don't be obsessed with Islam and do not talk about it 24x7. 8. Pray often but at home and in smaller groups. Use an app but no midnight loudspeakers to remind about the prayer time. 9. Adopt freedom of speech and other democratic values. 10. Pursue creative things like music and don't prohibit them. That's it! Guilty as charged but charges are simple to describe. If Muslims stop doing these behaviors, there will be no fear of Islam, no real or perceived injustice, no nothing and, hopefully, 2B new human beings will join the race to win Nobel prizes for humanity.
