Lavrov got the "idea" to utter the sad sentence to make distorted and cynical use of historical Nazism, some time after the "talks" between Russia and the "moderate" Abu Mazen --infamous Holocaust distorted since the 1980sReader comment on item: Israel, the West Bank and Gaza: Submitted by Charles Jr (United States), May 2, 2022 at 10:54 Lavrov got the "idea" to utter the sad sentence to make distorted and cynical use of historical Nazism, some time after the "talks" between Russia and the "moderate" Abu Mazen --infamous Holocaust distorted since the 1980s-- on the Temple Mount, as a payback for denouncing Bucha and other massacres _______________ CHRONOLOGY: Russia's message to Israel: a telephone conversation between Putin and Abu Mazen While Israel is facing riots in Jerusalem, preparing for a political crisis with Jordan and exchanging stings with the Kremlin, the Russian president spoke by telephone with the Palestinian Authority chairman. According to Moscow, the two discussed negotiations with Ukraine, but in Ramallah Putin sided with the Palestinians Elior Levy, Reuters ...Last Friday, Russia's Foreign Ministry attacked Foreign Minister Yair Lapid for condemning it as part of its decision to support Moscow's suspension from the UN Human Rights Council last week. ____ Bennett to Lavrov: Stop using Holocaust as political battering ram Asked in an interview with Italy's Rete 4 on Sunday how Russia could be "denazifying" Ukraine if its president Volodymyr Zelensky is Jewish, Lavrov said: "When they say 'What sort of nazification is this if we are Jews', well I think that Hitler also had Jewish origins, so it means nothing." ... Bennett said on Monday that "lies like these are meant to blame the Jews themselves for the most terrible crimes in history, which were committed against them, and thus free the oppressors of the Jews from their responsibility." "As I've already said, no war today is the Holocaust nor is it like the Holocaust," Bennett stated. "The use of the Holocaust of the Jewish people as a political battering ram must be stopped immediately." The remarks, which named the Russian foreign minister explicitly, are the first of their kind since Russia invaded Ukraine in late February. Bennett has not condemned Russia, though Foreign Minister Yair Lapid has repeatedly done so and Israel has voted against Russia in the UN. For example, when the mass civilian casualties in Bucha, Ukraine came to light, Bennett said he was "shocked" and "the suffering of Ukrainian citizens is huge," but stopped short of accusing Russia of war crimes. Officials in Jerusalem have cited military coordination with Russia in Syria and his attempts to negotiate between Zelensky and Russian President Vladimir Putin as reasons for his relative silence. ___ ADL @ADL Tweeted: May 1, 2022 In his transparently desperate efforts to justify Russia's invasion of Ukraine, FM Lavrov turns to highly offensive analogies and false comparisons. This misuse of Nazis, Hitler and the Holocaust must stop.
