The culture of violence by choice; re Shireen Abu AklehReader comment on item: CAIR and American Islam Submitted by Prashant (United States), May 16, 2022 at 03:11 Dear Dr Pipes, Regarding reader Karen's letter about Shireen Abu Akleh's demise, every death is a matter of sadness for all human beings. That said, the worldwide lamentation of her death and vilification of the IDF is nothing but a result of the world's misguided sympathies poor liberal education. The (so called) Palestinian Muslims like their brethren around the planet, live in a culture of violence by choice. A lot of groups around the world have suffered injustice. MLK stood for African Americans but he did not advise them to start a decades long war of wanton murders. Sindhi Hindus got a raw deal when their centuries old homeland was unceremoniously given to Pakistan and they were left to be killed or converted by Muslims. But Sindhi Hindus did not go around killing women and children in cafes. Those who are lamenting Shireen Abu Kleh's death need to be reminded that those who choose to live by the sword, tend to die with it too. Gandhi and Buddha and Jesus's message of non-violence was not just of non-Muslims. It was meant for Muhammad and all his pupils. My advice to the Muslims of Palestine would be to shed violence and adopt music, peace, literature and science. Then, Shireen Abu Akleh will not have to die.
