BBC's infractionsReader comment on item: Winning the Propaganda War [versus Radical Islam] Submitted by Prashant (United States), Jul 13, 2022 at 15:25 Dear Dr Pipes, I listened to BBC's world news podcast on July 13, 2022. In one single podcast I found three or four things that show BBC's pro-Islamic bias. There were four items related to the Islamic culture/politics/violence reported in this podcast but the world Islam was not used even once. I want to write about all four of them but will focus only one that was most blatant. In the end, I will explain why it becomes mandatory for me to write this letter. BBC seemed to be reporting on the release of two men from the Israeli prison after 16 years of jail time in the Israeli prison. The report started in the somber and contrived mournful tone so typical of BBC. The reporter did not clearly mention why the men were put in the jail but seemed to be celebrating the release of the men himself. As BBC reported on the release of these men, the sounds of Islamic prayers were played in the background. And sounds of gun shots were also played in the background. A bit later in the same podcast, BBC told us about two teenage who were "cleaning the graves of their dead friends". More prayer sounds and more gunshots are heard as the reporter continued. The reporter went on to describe the presence of militants in the refugee camp. All these unnamed militants may have been reincarnated Timothy McVeighs. The reporter also mentioned about a 16-year-old girl who died due to a gunshot wound while she was returning from her "English" classes. The sobbing cries of the girl's mother were also prominently played. In the same context the reporter did not forget to mention about the recent death of Shirin Abu Akleh. If a (so called) Palestinian public-relations department were to produce a report on these events, they could not have done as good as a job as BBC did. This brings me to the reason why I must write this letter. In the above podcast BBC did not mention that it is very unlikely that any government will harm two teenagers whose only action was the cleaning of the graves of their dead friends. BBC's rhetoric was only to gain sympathies for the Muslim cause and irrelevant otherwise. BBC's emphasis on the fact that the girl who died in a gunshot wound was returning from an English class was only to show how openminded the girl was. And the sobbing cries of the girl's mother in the background! BBC chose to play the Islamic prayers in the background as if the entire Islamic life was a Sunday morning church choir. BBC failed to mention that if the Islamic prayers are heard in the public places all over the world, they ought not to. Instead, BBC used the prayers to make the bad guys look good. England is now a tiny country but let me tell the BBC a little thing. If a BBC team leaves London for Bermingham and from there goes to the ocean to the northwest, and then follows the English coast southward and drives back to London, they will cover only a small part of their already tiny kingdom. They will not touch most of the UK in this road trip. If this BBC team takes a similar trip around Jerusalem, they will cover the entire country of Israel. That is, it! BBC must not shed any tears for the Palestinians. No one should. One billion Muslims have taken the world hostage for the last 8 decades for this tiny piece of land, which was usurped by Muslims to begin with, and which is much smaller than the land that Islam stole from others If we do not speak, we will all be subsumed by the Islamic propaganda. One billion Muslims talk about injustice constantly, but they never talk about responsibility. They also, never talk about the injustice that the Islamic reigns did all over the world for 1400 years. We do not need BBC as a spokesperson for the Islamic cause that is already sufficiently selfish and well supported, at that.
