Ahmed Rashdan (33) from the town of Einabus near Nablus, who held a permit to look for work in Israel, is accused of an act of terrorism following the attack on Yitzhak Dahan, 47 years old from Bnei Brak. The indictment states that he left a letter at his home in which he wrote that he must "live or die because of hatred of Jews"

מחבל פלסטיני נאשם בניסיון רצח באמצעות מרצפת בטון בגשר גבעת שמואל

הפרקליטות הגישה כתב אישום נגד אחמד רשדאן, פלסטיני בן 33 שניסה לרצוח תושב בני ברק ופצע אותו באורח קשה באמצעות מרצפת בטון בגשר הולכי רגל ליד גבעת שמואל בתחילת החודש. לפי האישום, חמדאן החליט לרצוח יהודי ממניע לאומני, וכבר יומיים לפני האירוע הגיע לגשר כדי לבדוק האם המקום מתאים למימוש תוכניתו. כאשר הבחין בקורבן והסיק כי מדובר ביהודי, הכה את הנאשם בראשו באמצעות מרצפת הבטון ונמלט מהמקום. לפני התקיפה, הנאשם השאיר מכתב לבני משפחתו, בו כתב כי "עליו לחיות או למות בשל שנאת יהודים", וכי "נענה לקריאת הג'יהאד".

A Palestinian man was indicted for the attempted murder of a Jewish man in Givat Shmuel using a concrete tile at the beginning of the month...
The suspect, 33-year-old Ahmed Rashdan, reportedly left a letter at his home addressed to his family, explaining that he would carry out an attack in pursuit of Jihad and out of his hatred of Jews.
