Said and Esposito must not insult India, China, Japan and the other true orient.Reader comment on item: Overcoming Orientalism Submitted by Prashant (Germany), Sep 7, 2022 at 10:04 Dear Dr Pipes, Any one who equates 'orient' with Islam, insults the orient. I can speak for the Indians. A lot of Indians want to distance themselves from Islam. If Islam is Orient, then, we are not Orient. We are something else. I also think there is anything common between Islamic hypocrisy and selfishness and the ancient Chinese/Japaness or Korean thoughts. Islamic apologists should not malign the orient by mixing it with Islam. There is no love lost between them.
