Taking "peace" out of contextReader comment on item: Christian Peacemaker Teams: Blame Bush, not Islamists Submitted by Rob Savage (United States), Dec 4, 2005 at 06:18 I'm afraid they are only blinded by their ideals, much like their secular counterparts. I have debated liberal christians in the past over the issue of war vs. peace etc. Generally, they have a very distorted view as to what the biblical message of peace really is. The ovewhelming testimony of the bible, especially the New Testament, make reference to peace in a relational setting or spiritual or physical resting. Peace in the context of protesting war is something that is completely foreign to the biblical meaning. It is ironic that their Muslim captors are more true to their religion's scriptures than they are themselves. We can only pray that, should they be released; they see the errors of their ways.
