Vonnegut goes down

Reader comment on item: Kurt Vonnegut, "Peace Activist," Lauds Suicide Bombers

Submitted by Mike Smith, M.A., of Kelly's Cove, San Francisco (United States), Dec 8, 2005 at 02:36

Vonnegut, imprisoned for decades in Iowa, like Richard Rich's Wales, he from that flat dry fen strenuously and diligently attained immortality as my minor literary hero, his thoughts have seamlessly been bumper-sticker chunks of my personal philosophy as I quote "Ice Nine" and "Galapagos" and "Monkey House" and "Slaughterhouse Five"... Alas, with Time, he's gone to Hell in his distressingly pedestrian a-historical slavish sucking up to his cool friends, bad companions have led another astray, Mom's right again.
