The Pyscho patho'allah'gy of everyday Islamic lifeReader comment on item: A Pakistani Pater Familias Submitted by Ben van de Polder (United States), Jan 5, 2006 at 17:50 Why haven't we heard any Muslim' human rights' groups calling upon the UN to finally do something to justify their existence by focussing on the eradication of the practice of 'honor killing'.Apparently uber feminists like Irshad Manji and Amina Wadud are too busy pushing their personal brand of Islamofeminism which involves women (like themselves who can't read Arabic) leading prayers, and demands for acceptance as lesbians from a religion which puts emphasis on procreation and marriage . Perhaps the failure of 'trendy and hip' Muslimahs to weigh in on honor killings is because, in the case of Manji, lesbians don't have to face the consequences of honor killings. As for Wadud, her farcical stunt as 'Imamah' for a day showed that any cosmetic change in Islamic ritual will do nothing to stop the primitive practices which manifest the real face of the religion. The push for equal rights in countries like Afghanistan,Iraq and Pakistan, is useless for women when they have no 'right to life'.
