face veils are for modesty and protection.Reader comment on item: Burqas and Niqabs in the Classroom? Submitted by maryam kim martin (Bahrain), Jan 19, 2006 at 02:59 Read Quran in arabic and get urself some islamic classes by the sheikhs of Mekkah before you comment on what a face cover is for. Just to correct you. the pagans of arabia didnt wear face covers at all. The cover was to be worn from the time that when sauda bint zalamah one of the wifes of prophet mohammed pbuh went outside with no head cover or face cover, and a man saw her and said, i see u sauda, ur tall and pretty. she ran back to her home and told prophet mohammed pbuh and the ayat of quran was revealed shortly after. Read surah Nisa - the women ayat 10 to 30.Im a women wearing face cover and head cover and the long gown, IM NOT A CRIMINAL IN DISGUISE. such generalisations and accusations are what make us muslim women so angry. May Allah guide u and ur intellectual knowledge about Islam.Ameen p.s next time im in uk and i see a man with a balaclava or scarf on his head in winter, ill tell him he is a thugg/criminal and thief because he has that on round his head to keep warm.
